Ground Rice Hulls

Windmill Rice Ground Rice Hulls are a free-flowing, high-fiber product widely used in animal feeds.

Long Grain Milled Rice

Windmill Rice is a high quality, well milled rice, produced from long grain varieties. This is the most popular type of rice consumed in Rwanda and the region at large. Because of its higher amylose and lower amylopectin content, long grain rice is more separate and less sticky when cooked than medium and short grain rices

Medium Grain Milled Rice

Windmill Rice Medium Grain Milled Rice is a high quality, well milled rice, produced from medium grain varieties. When cooked, medium grain rice is plumper, moister and more tender than long grain rice. The lower amylose and higher amylopectin content causes the kernels to cling together more than long grain. As a result, medium grain is generally preferred for hot breakfasts, puddings and desserts.

Rice Bran

Rice Bran is the hard outer layer of grain and consists of combined aleurone and pericarp. Along with germ, it is an integral part of whole grains, and is often produced as a by-product of milling in the production of refined grains.

Second Heads

Second Heads consist of broken kernels of rice, approximately 1/2 to 3/4 the size of whole grain that is generated in the milling process. This product is used to manufacture beer, ready-to-eat cereals and in the production of crisped rice for the candy industry.
